Ante Jurinovic : Electric Bass (Croatia)
Ante Jurinovic was born in Opuzen, Croatia in 1986. Grown up in a musical family (his father is a professional singer and keyboard player and his brother bass player) he soon got fascinated by the bass instrument. Listening to all kinds of music he started learning as autodidact.
With 14 he began his professional carrier recording albums with young Croatian bands and playing gigs all around the country. In 2006 he moved to Austria and began his studies of acoustic and electric bass at the jazz department of the Klagenfurt conservatory where he is still studying waiting for the diploma this year. During his first year of school in Austria at the age of 20 he was chosen to perform in a short tour with Joe Zawinul, what turned into reality one of his big dreams. In fact Zawinul and Weather Report have always been idols for Ante and playing with Joe was one of the greatest experiences he ever had. After the concert in Zagreb with Joe (which was one of his last), Ante received great appreciations and critics in the press as young upcoming bassist. This helped him to join many important projects, playing live all around Europe in jazz festivals and musicals with well known musicians such as Tamara Obrovac, Matija Dedic, Karen Asatrian, Gail Anderson band, Waveform band, Jean Nolan, and Hamlet and his Latin Jazz Experience. Recently he was invited to perform in the world famous Royall Albert Hall in London to support the most famous Croatian pop singer Oliver Dragojevic together with a symphonic orchestra, that performance will also be recorded on a live dvd.
